European downstream oil industry safety performanceStatistical summary of reported incidents – 2009

The sixteenth such report by CONCAWE, this issue includes statistics on workrelatedpersonal injuries for the European downstream oil industry’s own employeesas well as contractors for the year 2009. Data were received from 33 companiesrepresenting more than 97% of the European refining capacity. Trends over the lastsixteen years are highlighted and the data are also compared to similar statisticsfrom related industries. In addition, this report presents the results of the firstProcess Safety Performance Indicator data gathering exercise amongst theCONCAWE membership.
