Odour management guidance for refineries

Report no. 1/20: This document aims to help refineries, in conjunction with any existing national guidance, to develop methods to prevent odour nuisance and how to manage a complaint should an odour event arise on site. It describes some of the main aspects relating to odour emissions at refineries that should be considered.

These include methods of measuring and investigating odour, the key regulatory instruments, odour management and control methods, contents of an odour management plan (OMP) and implementation of an odour complaint handling system.
